"There was a time..."
I want to apologize for this very late entry. Have been busy with a lot of things and I totally overlooked editing these batch of photos! But, better late than never right?
Oh, first I need to warn you that if you are expecting pictures of performances and fireworks, well, you won't get them. Mong and I decided that we wanted to take photos of the atmosphere created by the crowd instead. We wanted to see how lively and ecstatic Singaporeans can get on their birthday. Hope you'll like the pictures!
Got a couple of NDP 2009 tickets from my Mom and decided to go with Mong. This is our first time watching the parade live since a zillion years ago, so naturally, we were expecting a really awesome time. We were not disappointed.
What I love most about Singapore is how we all colorblind. Wait, before you get the wrong idea, what i meant is how Singaporeans, young and old of the myriad of races, treat each other equally and with utmost respect. In the words of our forefathers, we believe we are one people, one nation, one Singapore.
We got there about an hour earlier but look how many people got there before us!
We got good seats!
We enjoyed mingling with the people around our seat as well...
Especially with her!
The sun was relentless...
but there sure wasn't any dried passion! "Wave your flags Singapore!"
oops she caught me!
The renamed Marina Wave!
Looking out for The Red Lions
Giving her daughter the best seat in the stadium
Proud parents eager to catch a glimpse of their sons in the marching contingents.
"When I was in the army..."
Happy Belated Birthday Singapore!
